Be Sew Stylish February 7, 2007

When I was at the CHA show last month, I got a preview copy of Sew Stylish, the new sister magazine to Threads. It’s great! I love the clear, accessible overview of the art of sewing with an emphasis on the intricacies garment construction. The first issue demystifies sewing machine features, tools of the trade, pressing, hand-stitching, measuring yourself, and making your buttonholes, darts, and hems shine. And the featured designs are inviting and fun… from whipping up a two-minute shrug to stitching a striking wide belt.

If you want a sneak peek at the print issue (not to mention tons of handy sewing tips and tricks) be sure to stop by their blog at besewstylish.com. Three recent entries jumped out at me:

Over a hundred links to amazing fabric stores online… wow! I bookmarked it immediately.

A bonus 7-piece Threads pattern from Simplicity, available for just $2.50 shipping and handling… I can’t wait to get mine!

•And a video guide to wrapping and tying the wide belt from the first issue — the perfect finishing touch.
